Overview

Proxel® HBC Preservative is a high-performance, broad-spectrum in-can preservative formulated specifically for the protection of water-based products from microbial spoilage. Developed by LANXESS, it contains 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT) as the active ingredient and is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as yeast and mold. Proxel® HBC is particularly suited for applications requiring a robust antimicrobial profile without the inclusion of formaldehyde or formaldehyde donors. Its compatibility with a broad pH range, excellent thermal stability, and low odor make it a go-to preservative for industrial formulations sensitive to degradation.
