Mergal® K9N is a formaldehyde-free, broad-spectrum in-can preservative formulated for water-based industrial products vulnerable to microbial contamination. Manufactured by Troy Corporation (now part of Arxada), it contains a blend of isothiazolinone-based actives, primarily 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT), offering strong protection against bacteria, fungi, and yeast. Its low odor, formaldehyde-free nature, and high pH stability make it ideal for eco-sensitive and high-performance formulations such as paints, adhesives, and emulsions.
