KATHON® LXE by LANXESS is a water-based, formaldehyde-free, low toxicity, low odor, biodegradable biocide. It is used as in-can preservative for a wide range of adhesives. It is an active ingredient preparation of chloromethylisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone.
  • It provides both fungicidal and bactericidal activity.
  • KATHON® LXE contains active substances permitted by the BfR and FDA for use in their application field.

Applications:

  • Adhesives: KATHON™ LXE is commonly used as an in-can preservative for adhesives. 
  • Paints and Coatings: It helps prevent microbial contamination and spoilage in paints and coatings. 
  • Building Materials: It can be used in various building materials to inhibit microbial growth. 
  • Latices and Dispersed Pigments: It is suitable for preserving latex emulsions and dispersed pigment systems. 
  • Other applications: It can also be used in detergents, fabric softeners, and other consumer products according to ChemPoint.
